Abbott's was a bakery that stood on a site now taken by Dapners pet supplies. It was so popular it had a large carpark to the left of the building. This photo was taken around 1960. My thanks to Brenda Madelly (nee Crouch) for sending me the photo.

Another photo of Abbotts has been supplied by John Nelson. He took the photo shortly before it was demolished. He's added these comments:

I took this photograph myself for your website showing it as it was a year or so before it was demolished to make way for what is now the building occupied by Tesco/Dabners. On the far left you can see the side of the Biggin Hill School canteen which was demolished soon after I took the photo.
