The Memorial Library
| The old building that stood on the site, on the corner of Church Road and Main Road, originally came from Detling airfield. It burnt down leaving the site vacant for many years until the Council bought it for the Memorial Library which was built in 1981 to commemorate the people from Biggin Hill who had lost their lives during the second world war. The photograph shows the summer fate, or carnival depending on which sign you read, in 1960. |
